Rafael Argullol

Rafael Argullol (Barcelona, 1949) narrator, poet, and essayist,  is a professor of Esthetic and Theory in the Arts at the Humanities Faculty of the Universidad Pompeu Fabra and the author of thirty books in different literary genres.

He studied Philosophy, Economy, and Information Science at the Universidad de Barcelona. He also studied at the Università di Roma, at the Warburg Institute of London, and at the Freie Universität Berlin, receiving a doctorate in Philosophy (1979) in his native city.

He was a visiting professor at UC Berkley. He has taught in European and American Universities and has given conferences throughout Europe, America, and Asia. As a frequent collaborator in newspapers and magazines, he has tied together his passion for travel and his passion for literature. He has helped in various theatrical and cinematographic projects. He won the Nadal Prize for his novel La razón del mal (1993), the Premio Ensayo de Fondo de Cultura Económica for Una educación sensorial (2002), and the Prizes Cálamo (2010) y Ciudad de Barcelona (2010) for Visión desde el fondo del mar
