Jordi Navarra

Jordi is a experimental psychologist, a researcher at the Fundació Sant Joan de Déu, and a part-time musician. He investigates the mechanisms underlying perception, attention and psychomotor performance, both in the healthy and in the pathological brain (in schizophrenia, Alzheimer's disease and ADHD, among other pathologies). He received academic training and worked at the University of Barcelona (undergraduate studies and PhD) and the University of Oxford (UK, postdoctoral stay).

During his career, he has received several scholarships such as Beatriu de Pinós and Ramon y Cajal. He has published his work in general scientific journals like PLOS ONE, PNAS, Science or Current Biology, as well as in psychology and neuroscience journals. His projects are funded by organisms such as the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC), Alicia Koplowitz Foundation, Agrupación Mútua or the Spanish Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness (MINECO). http://labjordinavarra.com/ In his spare time, he makes noisy music (or musical noise) in different bands in Barcelona. He plays drums, electric guitar, bass and, more recently, synthesizer. He has performed in emblematic venues (Apolo 2, Razzmatazz 3...) and has also participated in the 17th edition of Festival Lem (experimental music, Barcelona).
